McCaa, Edith H. of Amherst, NY, formerly of Ransomville, NY passed away on June 11, 2011. Born on November 25, 1922 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of John and Eva Buch Ries. Edith was a graduate of Kensington High School and Stratford Business Academy, Buffalo and married her late husband, Stuart J. McCaa, on May 24, 1952. She was a life member of Starlight Chapter OES and Starpoint PTA, and a member of Kenilworth United Church of Christ, C.L.A.S.S., Cambria Homemakers and Ransomville Country Crafts. She was a former member of Cambria United Church of Christ serving on the Church Council for 30 years, 25 years as Treasurer. Edith also had served in many capacities for 18 years at United Church Home, Buffalo and the former United Church Colony Home, Gasport. Predeceased by her husband, Stuart J. McCaa and two brothers, Arthur and Paul Ries, she is survived by her children, Craig (late Suzanne) McCaa of FL, David (Cathi) McCaa of Middleport, Gary (Beverly) McCaa of Conklin, Brian McCaa of Ransomville, Debra (Mark) Pavlock of Williamsville and Carol (Kevin)O’Brien of Conklin, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two sisters, Alice (Leigh) Reichert and Florence Endress and her brother, Charles (Margaret) Turner. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday August 14, 2011 at 12:30 PM from Kenilworth United Church of Christ, 45 Dalton Dr., Town of Tonawanda, NY 14223. Interment in Buffalo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, Buffalo Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
