Obituary of Dorothy Eadie

Eadie, Dorothy of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday June 11, 2011 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born on June 27, 1922 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of David, Sr. and Mary E. Poole Eadie. Dorothy was an elementary school teacher in Kenton, Bolivar, Angola and lastly Niagara Falls. She enjoyed summer travel, time at Chautauqua Institute, cross country skiing, antiquing and her native plant gardens. She was a certified document examiner, and had been a member of NYSUT, Niagara Falls Teacher’s, Emmanuel United Methodist Church, OES, Niagara County Republican Women, Zonta Club of Lockport, Lockport Gardeners and the Lockport College Women’s Club. She is survived by two nephews, D. Douglas (Donna) Eadie of N.T. and Donald (Barbara) Eadie of TX, great nieces and nephews, a great great niece and cousins. Dorothy is predeceased by two brothers, David Eadie, Jr. and Robert Eadie, her sister, Irene Elizabeth Ferguson and a nephew, Bruce Eadie. Friends may call on Wednesday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Institution, the Lockport Public Library or to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
