Porretta, Helen C. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Friday September 2, 2011 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born on March 23, 1924 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Felix and Mary Dubajka Kulik. Mrs. Porretta was a registered nurse and retired from Mt. View Health Facility. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Roadrunners Travel Club and enjoyed traveling, reading, bird watching, gardening and ceramics. Predeceased by her husband, Alexander A. “Tom” Porretta, in 1992, she is survived by her children, Mary Douglas) Hemingway of Middleport, Thomas R. (late Sharon) Porretta of Gasport and Barbara A. (James) Ragsdale of FL. She is the loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Hemingway, Lynn (David) Witt, Beth (Kevin) Schoenfeld and Andrew T. Porretta and six great grandchildren, David, Audrey, Michael, Nathan, Autumn and Ilana, sister of Irene (Jerome) Porretta of Lockport and Alexander (Teta) Kulik of CA, aunt of several nieces and nephews and lifelong friend of Helen Cappola. Friends may call on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at a time to be announced. Interment in Huskey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lockport Public Library or the scholarship fund of Briody Health Care Facility.
