After 44 years of dedicated service, Amy Lange Kenyon will retire on December 31, 2025. Lange Funeral Home has served Lockport and the surrounding communities for 72 years.

Founded by Mark I. Lange and Elton S. Bream in 1953, the funeral home underwent a transition shortly after its establishment when Mr. Bream sold his interest; the name was changed to Lange Funeral Home and managed by Mark until his passing in 1981. Amy, licensed in January 1982, purchased the family business in 1984.

Throughout my career, I have aimed to support families during difficult times with compassion, understanding, and meticulous attention to detail. I am sincerely grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me over the years.

It has been immensely rewarding to serve in funeral service. As I look forward to more personal time away from round-the-clock duties, I remain appreciative of the meaningful relationships formed within this community and in this profession.

All families with prepaid funeral accounts have been notified. The custodian of Lange Funeral Home files will be Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, located 5.8 miles east at 4521 Main St., Gasport, NY. Their team is known for providing the personal and professional care that the community expects. As the next generation of funeral directors assumes responsibility, Mitchell Family Funeral Homes—represented by Joshua Mitchell and Jacob Hebdon—will continue the tradition of compassionate service.
