Sigmund R. “Ziggy” Jasinski of Lockport, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Niagara Hospice House. Born on August 31, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Sigmund P. and late Leocadia (Kruczynski) Jasinski. Ziggy served in the U.S. Air Force from1954 – 1955, then in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957. Rank Specialist Bandsman 4th Army Band. He was a musician and played saxophone. Ziggy was employed at University at Buffalo from 1951 until he retired in 1990.
Husband of the late Patricia Weatherbee Jasinski and the former husband of the late Eva M. Jasinski, he was the father of Stephen F. Jasinski, Peter M. Jasinski, JoAnne M. (Laurie) Ayers, John Y. Jasinski, Christopher S. (Amy) Jasinski, Linda Rippel, the late Laura Capuano, late Michael, late William, and late Sharon Weatherbee; grandfather of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Leonard Jasinski, Eleanore M. Jasinski and Leocadia Cyrankowski.
Services will be private with inurnment in Corwin Cemetery.
