Dorothy Getty of Pendleton, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born on February 24, 1939, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Mary (nee Smith) Hefferon. Early on Dorothy worked at Pendleton Hardware and Country Cottage before she was a homemaker. She was a member of Pendleton Center United Methodist Church and Pendleton Senior Citizens. Dorothy was a people person and enjoyed her grandchildren and neighbors.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Edward L. Getty. She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Daniel Heim) Snickles, Debra (Rob) Prelewicz and Dawn (late Tim) Winkelmann; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; siblings, David (Cheryl) Hefferon, Rosemary Siegmann, Shirley Crites and Helen Waldrep and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Richard, Russell, George, Robert and Jack Hefferon, Betty Verrall, Marjorie Morgan and Patricia Doak.

Friends may call on Monday December 8, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:30 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 6:30 PM. Private interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pendleton Center United Methodist Church or Niagara Hospice, Inc.
