Currie, Arthur F. of Lockport, NY passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday February 13, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. Born on October 12, 1950 in Lockport, he was the son of Arthur C. and Barbara Kraatz Currie. Art served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 – 1972 and on September 25, 1975, he married his wife, the former Judith Sawicz. He retired from General Motors Corporation, was a member of the Screwball Club, played softball, bowled and was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Judith Sawicz Currie; two sons, Steven Currie (Jennifer Wierzbicki) of Charleston, SC and Thomas Currie of Lockport; his sister, LuAnn Coleman of Lockport; sister-in-law, Cathy Zimmerman of Lockport and several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Friends may call on Sunday 3:00 – 7:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM from All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined.
