Obituary of Sidney W. Johnston

Johnston, Sidney W. of Lockport, NY passed away on Thursday May 15, 2014 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born on February 13, 1928 in Medina, he was the son of Fred and Sally Peckham Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a graduate of Medina High School where he lettered in four sports and graduated from Dartmouth College where he was on the Squash Team. He began his career in sales at Johnston Linens in Medina, a family owned linen importing business started by his grandfather, and ran the business for 40 years. Mr. Johnston was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, was an enthusiastic gardener and since 1960, never missed watching a Bill’s game. Mr. Johnston is the husband of Maxine Johnston and the late Barbara Jeffery Johnston; father of Jeffery W. (Marcia) Johnston of OH and Scott D. (Brenda) Johnston of VA; grandfather of Paul W. Johnston, Sarah (Robert) Davlin and David P. Johnston; great grandfather of Julia Davlin and brother of the late Dudley Johnston. Friends may call Saturday 12:00 – 2:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Buffalo. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
