Simons, Rachel M. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Sunday June 15, 2014 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born on February 2, 1919 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Alvin and Bessie Weisel Moyer. Rachel began working in the office at Harrison Radiator, she and her late husband, Robert W. Simons, owned Simey’s Diner, Simey’s Restaurant and Simey’s Elbow Room and finally she retired in 1984 from Harrison Radiator where she managed the cafeteria. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, The Red Hat Society and the YWCA travel club. Predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Simons and her daughter, Marianne (Dick) Pickard, Rachel is survived by her children, Roberta (Dennis) MacDonald, Bonnie (David) Smith, Robert (Sheila) Simons all of Lockport and James (late Joanne Nayman) Simons of Gasport; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; special grandma to the 4 Bolt children and dear friends, Meg and Kevin Bolt. Friends may call on Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave. where funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM. Entombment in Glenwood Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
