Obituary of Ruth A. Shaffer

Shaffer, Ruth A. of Lockport, passed away on Sunday June 22, 2008 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born on July 7, 1910 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late W. Frank and Amelia Bald Shaffer. Ruth worked many years at the Tot-N-Teen Shop. Later in her life she received her teaching degree from Buffalo State and some of her happiest years were teaching at St. Mary’s and St. Patrick’s Schools here in Lockport. Ruth was a life long member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. She is survived by many nieces and nephews whom loved her dearly. She is predeceased by two sisters, Helen Shaffer and Elnor Carnegie and two brothers, Franklin Shaffer and Earl Shaffer. Friends may call on Wednesday 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc. 186 East Ave. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 8520 Tonawanda Creek Road, East Amherst, NY 14051.
