Obituary of Edith E. Winter

Edith E. Winter Winter, Edith E. of Lockport, NY passed away on Friday October 24, 2008 in Niagara Hospice House. Born on April 4, 1916 in Getzville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Laura Shisler Rogers. She and her husband of 72 years, Clare Winter, were married on November 21, 1935. Mrs. Winter lived in Gasport for many years where she was a member and taught CCD classes at St. Mary’s R.C. Church. She and her husband moved to Lockport in 2003 and are members of All Saints Church. Mrs. Winter was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. Along with her husband, Clare Winter, she is survived by her children, Louis (Patricia) Winter, Richard Winter both of FL, Marianne Johnson of Tonawanda, Thomas (Marilyn) Winter and Joseph (Gloria) Winter both of FL., 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her sister, Dorothy Barnes of TN and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Alfred Winter, in 1963. Friends may call on Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc. 186 East Ave., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from All Saints Church, 76 Church Street. Interment in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice House.
