Gerald P. Beitz Beitz, Gerald P. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2009 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility under the care of hospice. Born on April 3, 1937 in Williamsville, he was the son of Arthur H. Sr. and Irma Grotke Beitz. He and his wife, the former Rita Thompson were married on May 15, 1965. Gerry worked as a Chemical Operator at E.I. DuPont in Niagara Falls for 21 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, N. Tonawanda, NY, and enjoyed lively conversation, camping, the outdoors and music. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Rita Thompson Beitz, his children, Wenda (Steven) Moran of East Amherst and Kenneth (Paige McNeill) Beitz of AZ, five grandchildren, Adam, Lindsay and Beth Anne Moran, Jeremy Wright and Jacob Beitz, two brothers, Arthur H. (Madeline) Beitz, Jr. of Bennington, NY and Richard A. Beitz of Niagara Falls, NY, his aunt, Charlene Beitz of Penfield, NY and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., N. Tonawanda, NY. 14120. Interment will follow in Wheatfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 . You may post a message of sympathy at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
