Obituary of Thomas D. Wynes

Thomas D. Wynes of Orchard Park, formerly of Lockport, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at home. Born on October 13, 1946, in Lockport, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Shirley (Sliker) Wynes. Tom is survived by his siblings: Carol (Wynes) Snell, Robert (Judith) Wynes, Joseph Wynes, and Donald (Margaret) Wynes; nieces and nephews, Richard Thompson, Stephen Thompson, Nora Jane (Wynes) Saintz, Joseph Wynes, John Wynes, Jacqueline Wynes and James Wynes and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Constance Susan (Wynes) Thompson and Mary Ellen Wynes and nephew, Jeffrey Thompson. Tom joined Akzo-Noury in the 1970s as a quality analyst and was also a chemist at the University at Buffalo. He grew with several opportunities as his experiences grew and with additional education as an MBA at the University of Rochester. He ultimately left the company as Director of Marketing. Starting in 1985 he began as President of the Conmark / TECO Group, a firm creating elearning content development. After 35 years, he retired with the sale of the business as Bulletproof Solutions in 2017. Tom enjoyed his many long-time friends among groups of golf and card players. He was a stalwart fan for Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Tom was especially proud as a dedicated Buffalo Sabres season ticket holder, beginning since the Sabres initial season and for the rest of his life. He enthusiastically encouraged many family and friends playing in local amateur hockey. Services will be private. Inurnment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
