Frank G. Marotta Marotta, Frank G. of Lockport, NY passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2010. Born on February 22, 1921 in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Rosario Nero Marotta. Mr. Marotta served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a graduate of the University of Buffalo. He and his brothers owned the Jay’s Drug Stores where he worked as a Pharmacist. They were sold to Rite Aid in 1985 and he worked until he retired in the Pharmacy at Mt. View Health Facility. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, the Lockport Lions Club, the Pharmacy Association of Western New York and served as a mentor to pharmacy students at the University of Buffalo. Predeceased by his wife, Ruth H. Marotta, in 1982, he is survived by his children, Franklin J. Marotta and Mary Ann Marotta, his brother, Samuel (Etta) Marotta, his sister-in-law, Angeline L. Marotta and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Jenny Sacca, Alice Morello and Mary Enzinna and two brothers, Joseph J. Marotta and Thomas Marotta. Private funeral services were held on Thursday followed by entombment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lockport Lions Club or U.B. Foundation, School of Pharmacy.
