Mary L. Newhard Newhard, Mary L. of Lockport, NY passed away on Thursday December 9, 2010 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah HCF. Born on May 8, 1927 in Kenmore, NY, she was the daughter of Lawrence D. and Clara Bender Lockie. She and her husband, John L. Newhard were married on May 1, 1948. Mary was the Town Clerk for the Town of Lockport retiring in 1994 and then was the Town of Lockport Historian. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, member and past president of South Lockport Ladies Auxiliary and member and past matron of Lockport Chapter #73, Order of the Eastern Star and district deputy grand matron. Predeceased by her son, James L. Newhard and her brother, Robert (Gwen) Lockie, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, John L. Newhard, two grandchildren Jon (Lisa) Newhard of VT and Jay (Ashley) Newhard of Japan, her brother, Clyde (Betty) Lockie of FL and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport, NY. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
