Obituary of Thelma D. Rankie

Thelma D. Rankie Rankie, Thelma D. of Lockport, NY went to be with the Lord on Monday March 7, 2011. Born on November 20, 1937 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Russell and Emma Stern Dickinson. She married her husband, Roy A. Rankie, on June 22, 1957 and was the bookkeeper for the family owned business, Rankie’s, Inc. from 1973 until present. She was a longtime member of Raymond Community Church and had been very active in the church as Treasurer, a Sunday school teacher, on the Advisory Board and with the Ladies Aid Society. Thelma especially enjoyed fishing, quilting, knitting, sewing and reading but her grandchildren were the light of her life. She is the beloved wife of Roy A. Rankie, mother of Bryan Rankie, Sandra (Philip) Morton, Deborah (Ernest) Rankie-McPeek and Patricia (David) Housel all of Lockport, grandmother of Amandalynne, Melanie and Alexis Morton, Jennalee and Erica Striffler and Timothy and Rachel Housel, sister of Sharlyn (Roger) Graybeal of Alexander, NY and the late Marsha Ross, sister-in-law of Barbara (John) Clare of Albion and Prudence (James) Allein of Lancaster and aunt of several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday 5:00-8:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Raymond Community Church, 6597 Rapids Road, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Raymond Community Church.
