Obituary of Bertha B. Meal

Meal, Bertha B. of Terry’s Corners, NY passed away on Tuesday June 28, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born on January 24, 1914 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Kohl Bartz. She married Arthur F. Meal on June 17, 1933 and he passed away on December 11, 2000. Mrs. Meal worked at Harrison Radiator after 20 years and drove school bus 6 years for Roy Hart. She was a charter member of Terry’s Corners Auxiliary and a member of First Baptist Church and the U.A.W. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She loved to travel and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur F. Meal, she is survived by her children, Donald (LaTrelle) Meal of Galway, NY, Gerald (Carol) Meal of Lockport and Elizabeth (late Cecil) Ward of Medina, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, a sister, Elenore Muck, a brother, Albert (Dorothy) Bartz and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Loretta Siefert, Edna Bugenhagen and Loraine Pless, a brother, Earl Bartz and daughter-in-law. Rosemary Meal. Friends may call on Friday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Terry’s Corners Auxiliary or the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
