Obituary of Virginia M. Stoops

Stoops, Virginia M. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday September 22, 2012 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born on August 17, 1912 in Lockport, she was the daughter of William and Mary McCormick Williams. Mrs. Stoops was a retired telephone operator, a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church and New York Telephone Pioneers. Her family was her heart and soul. Mrs. Stoops was predeceased on August 16, 1996 by her husband, James E. Stoop, a son, Jack N. Stoops and her brother, Norbert J. Williams. She is survived by her children, Janice Adair and Paul (Patricia A.) Stoops both of Lockport; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patricia J. Stoops of Newfane and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where prayers will be said Tuesday at 12:30 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM from St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Outreach or Briody’s Scholarship Fund.
