Obituary of Charles H. Emery

Emery, Charles H., formerly of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday November 7, 2012 in Williamsville, NY. Born on May 24, 1925 in South Union, PA, he was the son of Glenn and Elizabeth Johnson Emery. Mr. Emery was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy from Yale and Master’s Degree in Business from Harvard. He married the former, Blanche Gibson, on October 31, 1945 and they moved to Lockport in 1949 when Mr. Emery came to work for Simonds Saw & Steel eventually becoming General Manager. In 1979, they moved to Pennsylvania and he worked for Washington Steel and Braeburn Alloy. While in Lockport, Mr. Emery was very active in the community serving on many boards including that of Lockport Savings Bank and the Lockport Public Library. The Emery’s have resided in Florida for the last twenty years and just recently moved back to the area to be close to family. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Blanche Gibson Emery; he was the father of Cedra (Raymond) Ferington of Lockport, Susan (John) Heher of Presto, PA, the late Ronald Emery and the late Jody Emery; seven grandchildren, David (Kristina) Ferington, Raymond Ferington, Kristin (Kevin) Teeter, Richard Ferington, Ronald Ferington, Kevin Heher and Michael Heher; four great grandchildren, Justin and Samantha Ferington and Kyle and Kelsey Teeter and his brother, Donald (Marilyn) Emery of Washington, PA.
