Obituary of JoAnn S. Peters

Peters, JoAnn S. of Lockport, NY passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at home. Born on May 13, 1941 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph Szell and Florence Silsby Szell Landers. She and her husband, Earl W. “Bill” Peters were married on August 22, 1959 and together they owned and operated Peters Dry Cleaning for 48 years retiring in 2007. Mrs. Peters was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. She was an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, helped establish Happy Times Daycare Center, taught Sunday school and BETHAL Classes. Mrs. Peters enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, gardening, knitting and spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband, Earl W.”Bill” Peters; two daughters, Valerie (Steve Seamans) Peters of Middleport and Renee (Lonny) Sullivan of Lockport; two grandchildren, Ryan and Cali Sullivan; twin brother Joseph F. Szell of Gasport; sister, Julie Kane of Corning, NY; brother-in-law, Michael J. Helman of Gasport and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday 1:00 – 5:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport, NY. Memorials may be made to the church.
