Charles Burg Obituary

Burg, Charles of Lockport, NY passed away on Monday May 6, 2013 in Newfane HCF. Born on June 17, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Jacob and Caroline Banzhaf Burg. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and owned and operated Rapids Exxon in the Town of Lockport. Mr. Burg was a member of Rapids Fire Company Exempts and enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. Surviving are his wife, E. Jean Burg (nee Van Buren); two sons, Ronald C. Burg of Lockport and Robert J. (Ginger) Burg of Gasport; six grandchildren, Robert, Brittney, Bridgett, Benji, Bret and Brandy Burg; siblings, Clarence (JoAnn) Burg and Betty Matzek and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jacob Burg. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM from First Fellowship Baptist Church, 11501 Rapids Road, Akron.
