Obituary of Bessie Mae Schoelles

Schoelles Bessie Mae ‘Betty’, passed away on Tuesday May 8, 2007 in Wilmington, DE. Betty was born on March 29, 1914 in Lockport and lived here most of her life. In 1954, she, her husband Harold and children moved to Rochester, NY and later to Framingham, MA. After the death of her husband, Betty returned to Lockport. In 1977, She moved to Wilmington, DE to be near her daughter. In Lockport, Betty was president of the Parent Teacher’s Association in the early 1950’s and took part in the ground breaking for the high school on Locust St. and Lincoln Ave. Betty was an avid golfer and played into her late seventies. She will be remembered for her warm heart, and beautiful needlework in which she took great pride in creating. Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bing) Crandall of DE, her son Michael (Kathryn) Schoelles of Niskayuna, NY, three grandchildren, Samantha Cardall, Matthew Cardall and Michael H. Schoelles, three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Visitation will be Monday at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Lange Funeral Home, Inc. 186 East Ave. Interment in Wright’s Corners Cemetery.
