Doris O. Michaelsen Michaelsen, Doris O. of Lockport, passed away on Friday September 7, 2007 in Lockport Memorial Hospital. Born on August 7, 1914 in Vancouver, B.C., she was the daughter of Harold and Frances Bales Cullin. She and her late husband, Kristian M.A. Michaelsen were married on August 8, 1940 in Vancouver, B.C. and he passed away on June 30, 1999. Mrs. Michaelsen had worked in the Classified Advertising Dept. of the US&J and finally in the office at The Sample. She was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, PTA and one of the prime movers and supporters of the Lockport Youth Bureau. She was an IWD honoree and had an abiding love of nature and animals. She was the beloved mother of Karen E. (George) Schanzenbacher of Chester, VA and Erik S. (Lisa Willis) Michaelsen of Lockport, beloved grandmother of Lisa (Britt) Vitalone, Amy (J. Jeff) Peters, Thea (Joel) Harris and Trisha Michaelsen, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren, and aunt of 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was also survived by her feline, Coco Chanel. Friends may call on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Lange Funeral Home,Inc. 186 East Ave., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Entombment in Glenwood Cemetery.
