Obituary of Barbara J. Currie

Barbara J. Currie, Loving Mother Currie, Barbara J., 75, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2008 at Niagara Hospice House after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 15, 1933 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Maie Wells Kraatz. Barb retired from General Motors after 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, jigsaw puzzles, watching “Dancing with the Stars” and most of all, her family. She was a kind and concerned friend to all who knew her. Barb was the wife of Arthur C. Currie for 48 years and he predeceased her on November 24, 1996. She was a caring mom to Arthur F. (Judith) Currie and LuAnn (Daniel) Coleman and loving gramma to Julie A. Garlock, Steven J. and Thomas A. Currie. (Riley and Angel, too) She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Josephine (late Robert) Currie, Anna (late Donald) Currie and Alice (late Cecil) Clack, one brother-in-law, John (late Tottie) Shaw and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Smith and brother, Harold Lockwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered from All Saints Church, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY on Monday at 10:00 AM.
