Clare Winter of Lockport, NY passed away on Thursday July 21, 2016 in Northgate Manor. Born on September 5, 1914 in Getzville, NY, he was the son of Jacob and Leona Clare Winter. He farmed on Chestnut Ridge Road in Gasport from 1958 – 1996, was a Pepsi cola Distributor for 20 years and owned Clare Winter trucking for 15 years retiring in 1989. He was a member of All Saints R.C. Parish and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Mr. Winter was predeceased by his wife, Edith E. Winter, two sons, Richard and Alfred and siblings, Marie Daigler and Lawrence. He is survived by his children, Louis (late Patricia), Marianne Johnson, Thomas and Joseph (Gloria); 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren 4 great, great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Linda and Marilyn.
Friends may call on Monday 4:00 – 8:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in All Saints R.C. Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
