Betty Carol Lorish of Lockport, NY passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2019 at home. Born on December 28, 1933 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Frank J. and Bertha Lembke Schmahl. She was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business School and went to work as the secretary to the Vice President of M&T Bank and later worked in food service for the Lockport City School District. Betty was also an appointed Polling Registrar for the Niagara County Board of Elections. An active member of First English Lutheran Church, she served in various capacities and loved the bell choir. Betty’s passions were her advocacy for animals, a longtime Buffalo Bills fan and grandmother to many

 

Wife of the late Howard R. Lorish; mother of Kate (Glenn Lawrence) Lorish and Diane Schwaibold; grandmother of Justin (Rebekah) Tate and Megan and Shelby Schwaibold; great grandmother of Isabel Rose and Alexander Tate; cousin, Donald (late Shirley) Capell; Goddaughters, Jean (Michael) Dusch and Linda Poss; loving family member, Donna Tate and loving caregiver and friend, Geraldine Taylor. Also survived by many beloved family members and friends.

 

Friends may call on Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc.
