Obituary of Jessica M. Benedict

Jessica M. Benedict of Lockport, NY, passed away on Monday April 15, 2019 in Harris Hill Nursing Facility. Born May 19, 1933 in Dublin, Ireland, she was the daughter of Robert and Alice Fitzgerald Kelly. She and her late husband, Orlo A. “Dutch” Benedict were married on May 11, 1957 and he passed away in 2003. Jessica worked at the Union Sun and Journal and was a lunch monitor for over 40 years and was at Charles Upson Elementary School for most of them. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and enjoyed bingo and playing cards.

Predeceased by her husband, Orlo A. “Dutch” Benedict and siblings, Millia Brophy, Nellie (James) Ward, Annie McLaughen, Robert Kelly, Alice Brown and William Kelly, she is survived by her children, Lisa (Eric) Brown and Jeffrey (Tina) Benedict; six grandchildren, Kelly and Taylor Brown, Ashlei (Mike) Jones, Aliesyn, Alex and Dutch Benedict; three great grandchildren; her siblings, Kathleen McCabe, Freddy (Phyllis) Kelly and Hugh Kelly and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave. where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
