Elsbeth A. Hamluk of Lockport, NY passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born on February 27, 1943, in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Ludwika (Hehn) Bredefeld. Elsbeth was a graduate of the University at Buffalo. She was proud of her 50-year career as a Physical Therapist working at Sister’s Hospital, Mt. View Health Facility, Odd Fellows & Rebekah HCF, Newfane Health Care Facility, and St. Clare Manor before retiring from Briody Health Care Facility.
She was known for her singing with patients and staff in the clinic. Always active in her church, Elsbeth was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Lockport College Womens Club and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Inter-Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed golf, bowling, flowers, gardening, and baking. She loved watching her children play sports, especially Lockport YMCA swimming and was an avid college football and basketball fan. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, John Gregory Hamluk. Elsbeth is survived by her loving children, Valerie, Gregory, Kevin, and Brian Hamluk; grandchildren,
Aleksander, Natalya, and Nathaniel Hamluk; brother, Ernest (Virginia) Bredefeld; brothers and sisters in-law, Steven (late Beverly) Gilson, Mary Ann (Donald) Clune and James (Kristyl) Gilson and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 24th from 4-8 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport. Interment in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
