Obituary of Carol Joustra Kinzly

Carol Joustra Kinzly of Lockport went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in Getzville, NY. Born in Medina, NY on December 23, 1933, she was the daughter of James G. and Helen Welch Joustra.
Carol graduated from Lockport High School in 1951 and the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 1954. Upon graduation she married Richard B. Kinzly. She enjoyed nursing and worked in many different nursing fields during her career. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling both here and abroad. She was a member of many local clubs and organizations and enjoyed volunteering her time, especially when it involved quilting.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her former husband, Richard B. Kinzly, and a son-in-law Keith O’Neill. She is survived by her children, Suzanne “Sandy” (Randall) Chapman and Kevin Kinzly; grandchildren Ashly (Kenny) Kidney; Ian (Melanie) O’Neill and Daniel (Hannah) O’Neill; great-grandchildren Emerie and Elaina O’Neill; and her brother George J. Joustra. She is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Avenue, Lockport, NY on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 4-6pm with a funeral to follow. Burial will be in Huskey Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Memorial Park, 43 Woodbury Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
