John Warner Misch of Lockport, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in Lockport. Born on September 18, 1934, in Lockport, he was the son of the late Walter and Doris (Reabold) Misch. He graduated from Capital University with a bachelor’s degree, did his graduate work at Buffalo State Teachers College where he received his Master’s in Education and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He spent his career teaching 5th grade at Gasport Elementary School. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Retired Teachers Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family at Trout Lake. Husband of 61 years to Virginia Hart Misch; father of Katherine (Barry) Stockhaus and Diane Elizabeth Misch; grandfather of Alyssa Marie Aronow, Nicole Christine (Eric) Geier, the late Melanie Jordan Aronow, Daniel Scott Stockhaus and Rebecca Anne Stockhaus. Friends may call on Monday, March 13th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave. Lockport where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at langefuneralhomeinc.com.
