Alan M. Hamilton of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at home with his family. Born on April 21, 1931 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Mayer) Hamilton.
He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1952 – 1954. After graduation Al made his home in Lockport, working at Harrison Radiator Division of GM as a Foreman, Personnel Supervisor, Director of Labor Relations and Plant Manager, retiring in 1991. Al also served the community as a member and President of the Lockport School Board, a member of the Lockport Town IDA and an active Rotarian. He was a Vestry Warden at Christ Episcopal Church, General Secretary of United Punch Manufacturers and an enthusiastic provider for local Meals On Wheels. Al enjoyed and shared many outdoor adventures with friends and family, camping, skiing, golfing, kayaking, hunting and walking his beloved little dog, Gina.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aryann Hamilton; children - Bob (Micki) Hamilton, Vicki Hamilton Jancef, and Peter (Jane) Hamilton; four grandchildren - Emily and Rebecca Hamilton, Alan and Elise Jancef, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the kind members of Niagara Hospice or The Humane Society of the United States Condolences may be offered to the family at langefuneralhomeinc.com.
