Paul R. Bernier of Lockport, NY, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 18, 2023. Born on January 10, 1948, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Eugene and Catherine (nee Welsh) Bernier. Paul served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1968 – 1971 and was discharged from the Reserves in 1974. He worked for 36 years at General Motors at the Tonawanda Plant, retiring in 2008 as a Quality Control Team Leader. He was highly valued for his multiple improvements to various machinery throughout his career. Paul enjoyed racing, building model airplanes, working outdoors, bird watching, deer hunting and loved his dogs.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Helen (nee Karatonas) Bernier; children, Melanie (James) Robinson, Michael Gregory (Mary) Bernier and Nicholas Eugene (Sarah) Bernier; grandchildren, T.J., Owen, Alex, Andrew, and Emma. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Eugene Bernier.
