Obituary of Anthony W. Mesmer

Anthony W. Mesmer passed away October 25, 2023, in Rochester, NY. Tony was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He was the son of the late William and Bessie Mesmer. Tony is the beloved husband of Shirley (Moreland) Mesmer; father of Mark (Roselle) Mesmer, Barbara (Ted) Weymouth and the late Paul (Barbara) Mesmer; grandfather of Alex and Sean Weymouth and Katie and Michael Mesmer; brother of Marilyn (John) Leffers, late Carol Mesmer and Beverly (Brian) Vespucci and uncle of several nieces and nephews. Tony served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1961. Tony is a graduate of Buffalo State College and University of Buffalo and achieved a Doctorate in Education. He began his career as a Teacher with the North Tonawanda and Tonawanda School Districts. He had a long career as a Program Administrator with Vestal Central Schools. Tony retired as a Principal with the Binghamton City School District after many years. In retirement, he continued in Education as a Professor, at SUNY Oneonta and Broome Community College. Tony loved teaching, history and was a Buffalo Bill’s fan since their inception. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly. A brief viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 10 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11am at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY.
