Obituary of Deane E. Bertelsen, Jr.

Deane E. Bertelsen, Jr., Age 63, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2024. Deane was an outdoorsman and passed his love of kayaking and fishing on to his daughters. He felt at home being in the middle of the woods. He had a soft spot for animals and would treat his pets to an occasional steak. He was always the funniest person in the room. He had a great sense of humor as well as a great head of hair. He enjoyed owning and riding a motorcycle. Deane served in the United States Navy. He is the son of the late Deane Sr. and Constance Bertelsen. Loving father of Shelby Kirkman, Cheyenne (Ryan) Thomas, Dakota Kirkman, Kevin Oaks, Richard Bertelsen, and Deane (Austin) Bertelsen, III. Beloved grandfather of Deane Bertelsen, IV. He will be missed by his long time partner, Bridgette Kirkman. Deane is also survived by many other loved ones and friends. A service will be held at Western New York National Cemetery at a later date.
