Obituary of Karen L. Shorr

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that Karen Lydia Shorr of Lockport, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, at her home. Born on January 6th, 1956, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Lorraine (Spinks) Tiedeman. Karen graduated from Kenmore West High School where she met many of her lifelong friends. Karen left a career in banking to raise her two children and went on to partner with her husband, Jeff, to run Newfane Automotive Supply together until their retirement in 2021. Karen’s passion in life was her family and those friends who became part of her family. She dedicated her life to making the lives of those she loves better with her generosity, thoughtfulness and willingness to help. She was a mom to Jeff and Jenna, but became Momma Shorr to many, many others. From her infamous candy drawer to birthday celebrations, Bills Games bashes, and sleepovers, Momma Shorr always made everyone feel special and welcome. Karen found joy in reading, cooking for her family, hosting friends and family at her home, spending time by the beach, and spoiling her loved ones at Christmas time. She was especially proud of her role as Grandma Karen to her grandchildren, Jack and Eleanor. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jeffery L. Shorr Sr. children, Jeff (Veronica) Shorr Jr., Jenna (Kevin) Peterson; grandchildren, Jack, and Ellie Peterson and step-granddaughter, Elizabeth (Charles) Carlino. Karen is joined at eternal peace by her best friend and sister, Michele Tiedeman, her granddaughter Adeline Peterson, and her beloved boxer, Lexie. Family and friends may call on Sunday, Nov 24th from 4:00-7:00PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 186 East Ave., Lockport. Memorials may be made to Diamonds in the Ruff. Condolences may be offered to the family at Langefuneralhomeinc.com.
