Dr. Gerald R. LaMont of Lockport, NY passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at home. Born on May 23, 1930, in Lockport, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Sheehan) LaMont. Dr. LaMont graduated from St. Bonaventure and then Colombia University School of Optometry. He practiced here in Lockport for 57 years. He was a certified flight instructor and pilot and had his own plane. He played the piano at local restaurants and enjoyed golf.

Predeceased by his wife, Gloria R. (Ridolfo) LaMont, he is survived to his four children, Donald (Meredith) LaMont, Geoffrey LaMont, Gloria (Mark) Husak and Andrew (Sheila) LaMont; four grandchildren, Alexander, Nathan, Samuel LaMont and Emily Husak and several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by two younger brothers, George and Pete LaMont.

Funeral services will be private with interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc. Condolences may be offered to the family at Langefuneralhomeinc.com.
