Robert G. Metzinger Metzinger, Robert G. of Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Tuesday October 13, 2009 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born on May 15, 1942 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Hubert G. and Marie C. Landry Metzinger. He played football and ran track while in high school at Starpoint and served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 until 1962. Bob worked at Simons Steel for 14 years and at Ultra Tool for 6 years,retiring in 1994. He coached Little Loop Football and AnJo baseball and was a member of the Redman and I.O.O.B. Clubs. Bob is survived by his sons, Paul R. Metzinger and Brian E. (Kimberly) Metzinger both of Lockport, five grandchildren, Donald, Dustin, Spencer, Brandon and Haley Metzinger, three sisters, Anna (Robert) Hartman, Cindy (Andy) Shinsledecker, and Diane Thore, six brothers,John (Eleanor), Charles (Zelda), George, Michael (Barbara), Hubert and James Metzinger, his companion, Marylou Schlasenhauf and former wife, Beverly Metzinger. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Gerald. Friends may call on Sunday 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.
