Obituary of Charles W. Backus

Backus, Charles W. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday November 21, 2009. Born on January 1, 1922 in South Windham, CT, he was the son of Charles and Fanny Backus. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Backus received his Masters in Education and retired as a high school math teacher from the Boonton, NJ School System. In 2002, he and his wife, the late Clara Ridolfo Backus, moved to Lockport, NY to be near family. Predeceased in 2005 by his wife, Clara Ridolfo Backus, he is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Gerald and Gloria LaMont, sister-in-law, Shirley Backus, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private with burial in Cold Spring Cemetery.
