Obituary of David E. Secrist

Secrist, David E. of Lockport, NY passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2011 in ECMC. Born on December 7, 1942 in Lockport, he was the son of Chesley A. and Ruth Ferris Secrist. He and his wife, the former Sandra English were married on April 25, 1964. David took over as 2nd generation owner of Chet’s Dog House in 1965 and continued making Chet’s a favorite eatery for generations of patrons before passing the business on to his son Chet. He was an avid golfer, former member of Lockport Lions Club and found comfort in the fellowship of the body of believers at Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife Sandra J. Secrist, his children,Chesley D.“Chet” (Kristen) Secrist of Lockport, Kelly (Dennis) Sears of Amherst and Jason A. “Howie” Secrist of Lockport, four grandchildren, Brayden and Brenna Secrist and Kayla and Kendra Sears, one brother, Richard “Dick” (Marlene) Secrist of S.C., one sister, Nancy Apolito of TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Secrist. Friends may call Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Assembly of God Church, 200 Beattie Ave., Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery.
