William J. Redmond Redmond, William J. of Lockport passed away on Sunday April 22, 2007 in Lockport Memorial Hospital. Born on June 28, 1922 in Lockport, he was the son of Patrick and Ruth Elliot Redmond. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, was a patrolman for the Lockport Police Dept. from 1951-1954, Under Sheriff with Niagara County Sheriffs Dept. from 1954-1958 and lastly, Security Director for Niagara Mohawk for 24 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Redmond was a former member of many local organizations. Predeceased in by his wife, Catherine A. Redmond, in 1993 and three sisters, Marian Kempton, Ruth Buri and Dorothy Walker. He is survived by his children, Margaret L. Redmond of OH, William J. (Gay Mobley) Redmond of AR, Kevin M. Redmond of Lockport, Ann M. (Kevin Miller) Redmond of Clarence and Mary C. (Paul) Goldhawk of Akron, 5 grandchildren, his twin sister, Clara (Ross) Newton of Gasport and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Lange Funeral Home, Inc. 186 East Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday from St. John’s Church at 10:00 AM.
