It is impossible for me to remember the golden days of high school without seeing Dennis cracking a joke and grinning at the gang to get a reaction. I only knew him as a teenager, but he was always good, even then. Always kind, even when he was calling someone out on their claims. We ran in a pack back then: to Castle's, tobogganing at the country club on "snow days," and to Pontillo's Pizza after basketball games. We all decorated for dances, rode in car parades, and at the end of senior year we busted out of the DeSales Field Day and hiked (over a train trestle!) to Reid's hot dog stand. Dennis was always true to himself, thoughtful, and funny. He was nobody's fool. It was my joy to know him then and to be his friend. The world has lost a good, good man. Patty, you are in my heart.
